Dr. ATM Badruzzaman, a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Min-Si Lee’s lab at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases and Vaccinology (NIIDV), has been awarded the prestigious Young Investigator Award at the Asia-Pacific Congress of Medical Virology (APCMV 2024), held in Singapore from November 19 to 21, 2024.
Dr. Badruzzaman’s research focuses on developing high-efficiency seasonal influenza virus-like particle (VLP) vaccines. By utilizing hemagglutinin (HA) genes from various influenza strains, he produced chimeric VLPs in insect cell systems that demonstrated strong immunogenicity and induced robust immune responses in mice, showcasing their potential as a quadrivalent influenza vaccine candidate.
At the conference, Dr. Badruzzaman delivered an oral presentation and engaged with researchers from around the world. This recognition highlights Taiwan’s growing influence in medical virology and NHRI’s commitment to cultivating talent through both local and international programs.
